  I live in Manor and usually attend Central Church of Christ in Pflugerville. When I first moved here I decided I wanted to visit different area congregations before placing membership anywhere. I have attempted to attend Elgin CofC on 5 different Sunday evenings and only twice have I actually gotten to attend. Both times I found what you would expect to find at a Church of Christ on a Sunday evening and was pleased. However it is the other three times that have earned this church three stars. Once when I went at 6:00 pm as is their evening service time, I found everyone moving from the building to the fellowship hall next door. When I asked what was going on I was informed that the first Sunday evening of each month congregations from surrounding areas are invited for worship at 5:00 pm and a meal at 6:00. They were very accommodating and did give me the opportunity to take communion but I could not stay for the meal. The two other times I have attempted to go I arrived at 6:00, if not a few minutes before only to find an empty parking lot and no one inside. No sign on the door other than the one that tells worship times. We were on time. If you catch a service at this church you will enjoy it. But it is very hit or miss. I would suggest maybe calling ahead of time to make sure services are actually being held.
